E&E Normal design Gas Permeable or GP lens are indicated for myopia and hyperopia (as in single vision). They are made of silicone-containing compounds that allow oxygen to pass through the lens material to the eye. Normal design GP lens are custom-made daily wear contact lens. They are more durable and tend to have longer life span than soft contact lenses. They are resistant to deposit build up and have lower risk of infections. GP lens generally give a much clearer and crispier vision as compare to wearing soft contact lens. Depending on the choice of material, their oxygen permeability can be much better than soft contact lens.
