The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought a lot of changes to the optical and ophthalmological industry. IGEL do take great effort in putting the safety and health of our users, customers, suppliers and community to be on our top priority.
There is no evidence to suggest contact lens users are more at risk for acquiring COVID-19 than eyeglass wearers. Contact lens users should continue to practice safe and strict contact lens wear and care hygiene habits to help prevent against transmission of any contact lens-related infections such as washing hands with soap and water before handling lenses. Always replace your lens as prescribed and lens case regularly. Avoid wearing lens if one is unwell. Users who are healthy can continue to wear and care for their contact lenses as prescribed by their eye care professional. Always wear your mask and practice social distancing when one is outside of their home.
